SYNLETT caregiver motion sensor review

A wireless alert that tells the caregiver someone is attempting to rise; it does not restrain or prevent a fall.

Reviewed with care·

This SYNLETT motion sensor alerts a nearby caregiver through a portable receiver; it does not restrain the person or prevent a fall. We retain it because the exact Amazon listing, seller and practical function could be verified.

SYNLETT caregiver motion sensor with portable pager

A good fit when: a nearby caregiver can respond and the sensor can be positioned to detect the relevant movement without invading privacy.

I would not choose it if: it is expected to prevent a fall or there is no response plan for each alert.

What the product actually does

The set combines one motion sensor and a portable pager. It can be placed on a wall or stable surface and is intended to notify the caregiver when movement crosses the detection area. The manufacturer states an open-area range of up to 150 metres; walls and interference can reduce it.

Where it can help

It may give earlier notice when a person begins to leave a bed area or enters a route that the caregiver has selected. A quiet patient room and a portable alert for the caregiver can be useful, but positioning must be tested in the real home.

Its limits

It is not a pressure mat, a medical monitor or a fall-prevention system. Detection gaps, false alerts, flat batteries and delayed response remain possible. Use the least intrusive placement and keep a clear response plan.

First-day checks

  1. Test every intended route with the door open and closed.
  2. Check range from the caregiver’s normal rooms.
  3. Confirm volume or alert mode does not distress the person.
  4. Replace batteries proactively and repeat the test.

Verdict

A reasonable non-camera caregiver alert when somebody can respond promptly. Do not buy it as a promise that a fall cannot happen.
