Buying mobility and care equipment in Spain: an English-language guide

If you live in Spain but make care decisions in English, translating a listing is not enough: dimensions, delivery, assembly, returns and safe day-to-day use all need to be clear before you order.

Options for this need

Compare what each aid offers and who it may suit.

KMINA PRO narrow indoor rollator

KMINA PRO narrow indoor rollator

A good fit when: indoor movement is the priority and width, turning space, brakes and handle height fit.

I would not choose it if: the person needs transporting or cannot operate the brakes safely.

PEPE Mobility shower chair with arms and back

PEPE Mobility shower chair with arms and back

A good fit when: the arms assist sitting and the outer width fits the shower and doorway.

I would not choose it if: a clear lateral transfer is needed or stability and maximum load have not been checked.

Geriafy high-low care bed with mattress and rails

Geriafy high-low care bed with mattress and rails

A good fit when: frequent care is provided in bed and an adjustable working height is needed in one coordinated set.

I would not choose it if: access, assembly, gaps around mattress and rails, or room-of-choice delivery have not been confirmed.

Assistive equipment does not replace clinical or occupational-therapy assessment when there is pain, a fall, a wound, sudden deterioration or an unsafe transfer.

Start with the task, not the Spanish product name

Describe what is hard today: getting out of bed, showering, transferring, walking indoors or reducing pressure. Then use measurements and function to find the Spanish product category. This avoids buying the wrong aid because a translated label sounded familiar.

Amazon.es can be read in English; the product still has to work in Spain

Amazon.es exposes an English-language mobility and daily-living catalogue, but the selected offer, delivery promise and seller can change. Enter the actual Spanish delivery address before deciding. For a bed, lift or riser recliner, confirm room access, parcel count, assembly and what happens if a bulky return is needed.

Do not let translation hide a safety limit

Check the manufacturer instructions and the exact variant for safe working load, compatible mattress or sling, installation, maintenance and intended use. If the person who will use or fit the equipment cannot understand the supplied instructions, resolve that before use rather than relying on an automatic translation at the bedside.

Metric measurements are your common language

Write down centimetres, kilograms, door widths, turning space and seat or bed height. Those numbers travel better across languages than marketing terms and make it easier for different family members to verify the same choice.

Support the person coordinating care too

Keep one shared note with measurements, exact model, seller, delivery date and who can ask for help. It reduces repeated decisions and stops all the information work landing on one caregiver.
